Ethnographic Research

This project is a deep-dive ethnographic study into one of Indore's most overlooked yet culturally rich craft traditions hand stitched leather toys, a GI-tagged heritage craft passed down through generations of artisan communities. Ranging from few inches to several feet tall figures showcasing rich tradition and skilled craftmanship.
Research Approch

The AEIOU framework is a mnemonic, heuristic tool used in ethnographic research, design thinking, and UX to structure, document, and interpret qualitative field observations. It organizes data into five categories Activities, Environments, Interactions, Objects, and Users, helping researchers turn raw, contextual observations into actionable insights.
Wrap up project
A field research project documenting the GI-tagged leather toy craft of Indore — its artisans, making process, and the cultural heritage at risk of fading. Through on-ground interviews and observation, the findings were translated into a structured visual archive using Figma and Photoshop, bridging ethnographic research with thoughtful design storytelling.
